The whole of its design ethos hints at Tesla as opposed to Ford pickup.
The white and black colorways are accented by a tally light that blends into the build itself, lining the top edges of each support arm with an elegant alternative to simple on-off tally cells in the majority of cameras. The whole of its design ethos hints at Tesla as opposed to Ford pickup.
Watching the camera do its thing, it appears to be floating on the base, invoking the memory of Star Wars hovercraft effortlessly gliding over varied terrain. Nothing about it appears jerky or mechanical, promising smooth follow and easy pushes or pulls. Once Church Production is able to play with it for a bit, we’ll know if it delivers on that promise, but it looks good.
The rear connections array is neatly organized, nothing stacked on top of each other, each slot and output offering lots of room for nimble fingers. Everything looks contained.

Considering the connections, the Adamo-JR isn’t messing around, offering just about everything except a fiber connection. It would be nice to see a Thunderbolt 3 or 4 connection in addition to the USB 2.0 and 3.0 outputs, but you can’t have everything you want. While that does leave Mac users without completely optimal connections, the direct streaming over LAN option (as well as standard SDI and HDMI) offers an ample work-around. No big deal, and actually a lot to work with. Oh, and if you’d like, you can just record up to 1TB in the Micro SD slot.
BZBGear offers the Adamo-JR with three ascending optical zoom options—12x, 20x, and 30x. Each step-up reduces wide-angle capabilities (70º, 60º, and 58º respectively) and increases the price by $100 per unit, but the 30x option is still only $1699, which is a lot of bang for buck. Overall, this is a promising camera from BZB. We should also mention that the Adamo-JR won the ISE 2023 Best of Show, so its promise carries weight.
We’re reviewing this camera soon, so we’ll update in the near future. In the meantime, head here for the full specs as well as the full rundown of the camera.
